Sri Lanka's total GDP in 2014 is about $ 78.8 billion and its per capita GNI is $ 3,440, which is equivalent to low and middle income countries (OECD aid). Since the end of the civil war, the economy has continued to grow steadily thanks to large-scale public investment and infrastructure expansion and robust tourism. In the Sri Lanka dry region, irrigated waterways and rivers are centered on rice cultivation and agriculture, and wet areas where 60-70% of the population live mainly produce traditional tea, rubber and coconut. This article examine the status and policies of Sri Lanka agriculture. |
